Case Studies
All schools signed on for the full Habitat Heroes process start off with
whole school consultations about how they want the school grounds to be
developed for wildlife. Children and teachers, and the wider school
community, where appropriate, are consulted about the resources that
would enhance their experience and practice within the school grounds,
and encourage wildlife and a richer natural experience.
After consultation, long-term concept plans for the school are put together by BCEP’s Urban Design Team. This is then worked towards through practical environmental education sessions with children at the school, and volunteer days with volunteers from local businesses and parents.
The following case studies detail examples of how Habitat Heroes developed in Bradford schools:
Sandal Primary School
Burley Oaks Primary School
Eastburn Primary School
Killinghall Primary School
Thornbury Primary School
