Thackley Bike Course

Thackley bike course lies in North Bradford. It is an existing bike track that is set in Buck Wood.

The track has become run down, under used and has problems between conflict of users such as horse riders, dog walkers, cycling and youths.

After consultation meetings with local community groups, cycling groups, local businesses, cycling charity groups and Bradford Council, proposals have been drawn up by the Urban Design Team, to improve the space and restrict unwanted conflict in use whilst improving the site for pedestrians and cycle users.

The design encourages safe access for pedestrians opening up new routes around the site to allow both cyclists and pedestrians to use the area without the risk of conflict with other users or existing wildlife.

The design has also had thought put into habitat creation through the use of native planting, wild flower meadows, hibernation and shelter space for invertebrates and amphibians.
