Wycliffe Primary School Garden
Posted by cud, June 26th, 2008
The Urban Design Team (UDT) and E-Schools were approached by the school to create a green play area and offer an educational growing club.
Previously the site had some terrapin classrooms, but since these had been removed the site had become underused.
Requests from children and staff were combined with the knowledge and skills of the two BCEP programs to convert the blank space into a play area with a wooden trim trail, a large living willow structure and a planting area with raised planters.
The efforts have resulted in a fun, useable space bringing an increased environmental awareness and interest among the children.
