Urban Design Team

Aim: To improve the physical and natural environment of Bradford through sustainable, environmentally friendly, creative and innovative design inspired by Community needs.

Over the past 8 years BCEP’s Urban Design Team has developed a reputation for high quality Landscape Design based upon engaging Community Consultation.

Working with Community Groups, various Council Departments, Parish Councils, Children’s Centres and other Voluntary Organisations we have successfully transformed many derelict, often fly tipped and unloved plots of land into Community Gardens, Nature Areas, Play Areas and other recreational facilities.

Our comprehensive service includes:
  • Assessing the viability and sustainability of proposed projects.
  • Development of conceptual designs for consultations
  • Community consultations and reports.
  • Project management.
  • Site surveys.
  • Development of plans and detailed designs for consultation.
  • Submission for planning permission.
  • Final plans and detailed costings.
  • Advice on accessing funding and assistance completing funding bids.
  • Tendering and site management.
  • Future site management advice and maintenance schedules.

Requests for assistance have intensified and diversified recently, with the team being called in to assist and advise on projects ranging from interactive community consultations to environmentally friendly drainage research. Demand for the service continues to grow.

Present Funding: The Urban Design Team opperates on approximately 12% fees on capital projects, they are happy to work with community groups to help them explore and develop third party funding options.
