Quadrant Community Environmental Package (QCEP)
Aim: To make environmental improvements through community development in an area confronting disadvantage, poverty and exclusion.
Following consultations and designs, the programme has completed work at:-
- St. John's Church Memorial Garden and associated works
- Burnham Avenue phase 1 with steady progress at Burnham Avenue phase 2
- Miles Hill Crescent & Dawson Road incorporating Bierley Community Centre security fence project, patio terrace, community garden and rear patio
- Weardale Close
The physical works have been complemented by a sterling
body of work with the local community including site consultations, three
community clean-up days, Bierley Woods ponds clean-up together with Spen
Valley Clear Water Revival, two Bierley Woods Family Days which were attended
by 400 local residents, activities at the local galas, input into the
Bierley Community Centre Management Committee and also the Bierley Neighbourhood
Action Planning groups. The programme leaves considerable visual and community
benefits in the Bierley area.
