Grow Organic at the Well-Being Café

Grow Organic has visited the Polish community at the Well-Being Café on two separate occasions recently to promote healthy eating and healthy lifestyles.

The group of elderly people, who meet once a month, enjoyed the discussion that took place around a selection of fruits and vegetables in different shapes and sizes, and matching the labels to the objects. Fruit and veg bingo was also very popular, with the winner going home with  a chocolate mint plant. One of the participants commented: “This is good - it’s got everyone talking”.

The ladies and gentlemen also took part in making their own buckwheat bags, blending lavender essential oil with the wheat to make lavender bags. One member of staff said “It’s great to see the men taking part as well as the women”.

Grow Organic has been invited back in the New Year for another round of bingo and have a container planting session.
