Apple Day 2009 - what a fantastic day!
Posted by groworganic, September 23rd, 2009
Saturday 10th October was Apple Day at Bowling Park Community Orchard! Hundreds of people came to celebrate the diversity of our apple and fruit heritage and enjoy the lovely sunny weather.
The longest peel?
They joined in activities for the whole family: apple tasting and a great variety of English apples to buy; freshly pressed apple juice; appley games and craft activities; wildlife games; horticultural advice on buying and caring for your apple trees; a café with apple specialities.

Make sure you get there next year!
Chocolate apples -mmm!
Feedback from some of our visitors:
Its brilliant here! The last one I went to was Shipley College – this is much better.
All the varieties here, and supermarkets sell us foreign imports!
I bought two different sorts of cooking apples because my son’s at catering college and he wanted something unique and special.
I particularly like the display of different varieties of apples and the chance for ID.
We've had some good tips about pruning.
Very nice apple pie!
It brings communities together
