Summer Holiday Loan Packs for Holiday Schemes
Posted by ape, July 7th, 2009
The Adventurous Play Experience (APE) project is a scrap play project operating throughout the Bradford District.
We play with scrap ‘loose parts’ which have been reclaimed from the local environment (streets, skips, tips and businesses) and are put together in play packs.
The packs are then used in play activities, which allows participants to engage with the ‘loose parts’ in play settings.

Loan Packs
Play resources can be expensive to buy, but APE can loan out play resources for free! Because these resources are scrap it means they cost nothing to buy, but are great for children to play with inside, outside or anywhere! The items available for loan are ideal to boost your play resources.
We can bring you a loan pack of resources to use over the summer holidays for free. We will be delivering summer loan packs on Friday 10th July, 17th July and 24th July, ready for you to play with over the summer.
Types of loan packs;
1. Large Play Packs
Our large play packs include our larger scrap items such as cardboard tubes, reels, wheels, barrels, crates etc… These are ideal for outdoor play in the summer but are also suitable for playing with inside. The large scrap items provide much scope for imagination and can boost a playschemes resources dramatically! We can also tailor packs to themes such as Den Building, Car Making, Games etc...
2. Junk Modelling Loans
Junk modelling loans consist of our smaller scrap, which is great for junk modelling type activities. The pack will include scrap such as plastic pots, trays, small tubes, cones and cardboard along with arty scrap, which adds some colour and fun.
The packs are great for small projects to make models; the activity is especially flexible to fit with themes the children are interested in. Themes include Rubbish Monsters, Litter Bugs, Robots, Animals etc….
3. Arty Scrap Boxes
If you would like to boost your arts and crafts resources we can loan an Arty Scrap Box to you. The boxes include a wide array of small scrap, which is great for arts and crafts. Materials include cellophane, a mixture of paper and card, foil, wool etc…
