Peel Square lies in the Eldon conservation area within the grouping known as the Manningham Conservation Area.
Peel Square BEFOREThe stone built horseshoe of terraced houses has been restored in recent times, with new railings on the front garden walls.
The residents struggled with fly tipping in an alley at the back of
their houses and asked UDT for help. UDT identified existing features
on site and followed their style to prepare detailed drawings for new
gates at an each end of the alley and new railings on top of an
existing wall which was repaired, in accordance with the BMDC
Conservation Officer’s requirements.
UDT applied for planning consent, monitored the funding, let the contract, checked the work and issued valuations.

The finished wall and metal work restricts entry of non residents so
that the alley is not just free from flytipping but can also be used
for safe play by the children of residents and their friends.
