Thornbury & Petrie Grove

The residents of Petrie Grove, the Croft Working Men’s Club and
Thornbury Youth and Community Centre had pieces of land in the same
area which had suffered from fly-tipping for many years.
Thornbury & Petrie Grove BEFOREAfter
a consultation meeting, proposals were drawn up by UDT to restrict
fly-tipping opportunities, to encourage safe access by pedestrians and
to smarten up the local area.
Using a local landscape contractor, all fly-tipped rubbish was removed,
a partially dilapidated wall was replaced by tall railings. Bollards
were put in to stop vehicles driving down paths, and the land in
private ownership was fenced. A new footpath was constructed and an
existing path resurfaced.
