Bradford’s new scrap and craft store is the place to buy all your scrap, art and craft materials for creative play at rock bottom prices. Funded by Bradford Councils community fund and backed by the Early Years and Childcare Service, the Scrap Store has been set up at Eccleshill Adventure Playground – The Big Swing.
It is brimming with a vast range of materials to help youngsters enjoy creative play. The scrap store reclaims then recycles safe waste materials from local industries and businesses. With a little bit of imagination these items can be used for all sorts of activities. Typical scrap resources available are; large wooden reels, cardboard tubes, fabric off cuts, cardboard, foam, and much more! Various types of paper, pens and craft tools are also on sale – all at low prices.
The aim of the shop is to help people choose materials to offer children and young people the opportunity to develop their skills through play and crafts.
It has a wonderful selection of basic and advanced arts and craft and scrap materials on offer and customers will be spoilt for choice.
You can also order on-line through the Play Network`s web site: www.playnetworkbradford.co.uk your order will be made up and ready for collection at the scrap store.
The Voluntary and Community Sector Play Consortium – which is made up of three play projects; The Play Network (Bradford); Bradford Community Environment Project and Eccleshill Adventure Playground – was commissioned by the Council to offer a comprehensive voluntary and community sector play service throughout the District. The shop, which is not for profit, is part of the Consortium's work and is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 1pm.
