Bradford Craft and Scrap Store recycles waste from businesses in Bradford that can be used for arts, crafts and play. We are looking for any waste that is unusual, versatile, colourful, clean and safe.

Apple Day 2008

What an apple-mostphere!!

BCEPs Grow Organic took part in Bradford Apple Groups highly successful 2008 Apple Day. The event took place at West Bowling Community Orchards and was attended by over 600 people, twice the number who had attended in previous years. Bradford Apple Group aims to raise awareness of English apples and apple orchards and support community orchards. The event took place on West Bowling Community Orchard.

New objectives for BCEP

BCEP revised it’s objectives at it’s AGM on Tuesday 14th October 2008. Following a review of BCEP present and proposed activities and reflection on the Charities Act 2006, which includes new definitions of areas of charitable work, the Board of Trustees formulated 7 objectives for the charity. The new objects were sent to The Charity Commission to check compatibility with the Charity Act, before being proposed and accepted at the 2008 AGM.

Manningham in Bloom 2008

The Manningham in Bloom Award Evening on October 6th was a fantastic celebration of the beautiful gardens and allotment plots in Manningham, worked on by individuals, schools and community groups. Over 100 people attended the event held at the Carlisle Business Centre to collect their awards from Deputy Lord Mayor Hawarun Hussain, to cheer on friends and family and to enjoy Pete Lawless White’s Suitcase Circus.

Anchor Garden

Many houses in Bradford have very small front gardens which have been covered in concrete. The aim of the Anchor Project who commissioned UDT was to create an exemplary front garden on a small piece of land to encourage more positive use of front gardens.

Peel Square

Peel Square lies in the Eldon conservation area within the grouping known as the Manningham Conservation Area.
